Catalog description

This course emphasizes a beginner’s walking program (ie. 10,000 steps per day) to promote health and decrease the risk of disease. Topics include benefits of exercise, disease prevention, fitness level assessments, the body’s adaptation to exercise, injury prevention, and basic nutrition. Demonstrations, practice of walking technique, and additional physical activity will be required throughout the course.
