EMT 240 is the third in a sequence of five courses designed to prepare students for Paramedic licensure. Students must successfully complete all courses to qualify for licensure examinations. EMT 240 utilizes cognitive, psychomotor, and affective standard objectives specified in the U.S. Department of Transportation 2010 EMT-Paramedic National Standard Curriculum and the National EMS Education Standards. This course is designed to prepare the student to function as a Paramedic, and gives the student field experience with an advanced life support unit ambulance as a BLS Team Leader as well as clinical experience in specified units. The experiences gained during this course will further develop the skills and knowledge learned in EMT 236. There is no didactic portion of this course.
