Catalog description

Introduction to the history, vocabulary, tools, materials, and processes of graphic production utilized in the graphic communications industry. This study of the graphic communications industry, one of the largest employment sectors in the United States, encompasses how images can be prepared and placed on solid surfaces and how the images can be used to communicate thoughts and ideas. This course will introduce you to the processes of preparing, placing, and reproducing images that communicate thoughts and ideas. With over one million people employed in the graphic communications industry, there are many employment opportunities in various facets of the field. This course will define and clarify these professional opportunities and provide you with a foundation for understanding and growing in this field of study. This course is offered at ISU for students in the Digital Media Packaging Graphics sequence.
