Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the role and influence of families and communities on children’s development, learning, and well-being in the early childhood setting. Culturally and linguistically responsive communication and collaboration strategies designed to engage families will be introduced. Strengths-based, culturally responsive practices that model respect for families will be a central focus. CHLD 238 and 239 combined are equivalent to, and should transfer as, CHLD 209. Credit for CHLD 238 will not be awarded for students who have previously taken CHLD 209.
