Practical applications of evidence-based knowledge, skills, and dispositions within early childhood settings are the focus of this course. Students work with young children and families in high-quality, culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse early childhood settings under the supervision of a site supervisor and a college course work supervisor. Six hours of lab work will be required each week. This course meets for 1 hour seminar and 6 hours practicum for 3 credit hours. Students are required to provide documentation of meeting all State of Illinois requirements in regard to health (completion of TB test, DCFS Health Form) and criminal background checks BEFORE beginning practica placement. Criminal background checks must remain current as of the last day of the clinical experience.
