Catalog description

Numerous industries from Agriculture to Construction require a literal foundational knowledge of the soil and its intelligent management. Throughout the past century, soil surveys and taxonomic classifications have yielded a plethora of data to serve these purposes. The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with that existing dataset and its importance in science and industry. Additionally, students will learn how to extract features from this, and other similar datasets, to learn the process of leveraging existing data for novel modeling and product development.
