Catalog description
Provides an overview of the principles and practices of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Addresses issues of spatial data models, database design, introductory and intermediate GIS operations, and case studies of real-world GIS applications. Uses GPS technology and software applications in the GPS portion of the course. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours); Laboratory: 1 credit (45 contact hours).
