Catalog description
This course is an introduction to the fundamental operations of selecting, welding and heat treating tool steels. Classroom and shop instruction is given in welding safety, welding equipment, selection and manipulation of electrodes and the procedures in welding allow and tool steels. It will cover steel selection and basic heat treatment. Lab and class emphasis is on the changes that happen when steel is heated and cooled by welding as well as heat treating.
