CoReq: Nurs 153L and Nurs 203 Provides an introduction to nursing and roles of the nurse, as well as profession related and patient care concepts. The theoretical founda- tion for basic assessment and nursing skills is presented along with the opportunity to demonstrate these skills in a clinical laboratory setting. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, quality care. An introduction to the nursing process provides a decision-making framework to assist students in developing effective clinical judgment skills. Correlated clinical experiences are provided with adults and older adults who have basic health alterations with predictable outcomes.
