“C” or better in Nurs 203) or (“C” or better in Nurs 250 and “C” or better in Nurs 250L) CoReq: Nurs 151; and (Nurs 157 and Nurs 157L) or (Nurs 255 and Nurs 255L) This clinical practicum focuses on the care of clients across the lifespan experiencing cognitive, mental, and behavioral disorders. Emphasis is on nursing management of clients and families experiencing disruptions in psychosocial functioning. Concepts of crisis intervention, therapeutic communication, anger management, and coping skills are integrated throughout the course. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient care to patients in mental health settings throughout the health con- tinuum.
