Catalog description

Designed to acquaint non-science majors with mathematical reason- ing and problem solving, and to expose students to the power and utility of mathematics through its relationship to the world. Foundation topics covered are problem solving, elementary logic, and numeration systems; additional topics may include one or more of the following areas: algebra, business math, counting theory, geometry, probability, statistics, and voting methods. Proofs and historical perspectives are included as appropriate.
