This course was developed through the National Fire Academy’s Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) initiative. Firefighting is one of the nation’s most hazardous occupations. The National Fallen Firefighter Foundation’s 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initia- tives provide a framework within which fire and emergency response personnel can identify and address the issues that constitute risks of both injury and loss of life.
