Catalog description
Introduces essential elements, definitions, and terminology involved in analyzing the nature of fire, and determining needs and requirements to extinguish fires. Students develop an understanding of complexities involved in suppressing fires. Students will learn manpower, equipment, and practices with an emphasis on pre-planning, study of conflagra- tion problems, and fire ground organization. This is a building block for future tactics and strategy classes taught by State and Federal fire programs.
