Catalog description
Introduces students to persistent themes that appear in the English language literature of Hawai‘i. Literary contributions from a wide range of sources representative of Hawai‘i’s rich cultural and ethnic diversity will be studied in their historical and cultural context. Emphasis will be placed on the themes that help readers to appreciate the ideological and aesthetic qualities specific to Hawai‘i’s literature as well as those that identify Hawai‘i as part of a global community.
