Intro to Film: History 1960

Introduces the history and close analysis of film and early television texts from 1849-1960. The course examines the broad questions of form and content, aesthetics and meaning, and history and culture within the context of film, cinematic, and television media. Students will explore the diverse possibilities presented by the cinematic art form through an examination of a wide variety of productions, national cinemas, and film movements.
