Catalog description

Prepares students to read and write for college. Readings include college or near college-level articles, essays, and other types of nonfiction. Emphasis on summary writing, paragraphs and short essays that analyze and respond to class readings. Includes practice with vocabulary, grammatical forms, and punctuation that support effective writing in college. Not open to students who have completed ESL-101 with a grade of "C" or better. Advisory: ESL-255
