Catalog description

Designed for upper division students in the Respiratory Care baccalaureate program. Focused on collaborative and culturally sensitive communication with colleagues and patients to promote dynamic and engaging healthcare related professional settings. Exploration of self-awareness, listening, non-verbal communication, communication environment, and communication misperceptions will guide learning. An emphasis on culturally competent communication will help students acknowledge and dismantle biases that hinder the patient-caregiver relationship. All courses designated as an upper division major requirement must be completed with a minimum grade of "C" (or "P") for each course in the major.
