Catalog description

This dynamic course provides an overview of the many branches of biotechnology, including medical, forensic, aquatic, industrial, agricultural, and nanobiotechnology. The student will explore how biotechnology transforms biological systems to create innovative products and solutions that impact industries such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, food, and agriculture.The course centers on three main goals: 1) to understand the biological processes involved in biotechnology methods; 2) to identify and criticize the benefits and drawbacks of current methods; and 3) to review new emerging technologies that focus on ecological solutions.
