Catalog description

Provides an introduction and orientation of the counseling profession to beginning students. This includes the role and function of the counseling and mental health professional. Topics covered include the history of the counseling profession, ethical and professional standards, and the practice of counseling in a diverse society. Students will be able to identify their role as counselors in the field of mental health care.
