Examines the dynamic changes that have occurred in Chinese society since the death of Mao Zedong in 1976. Using Chinese feature films produced since the 1980s, the course examines how economic reform has dramatically changed Chinese society and focuses on the relationship between art and politics in the People?s Republic.
