Catalog description

This course will focus on the molecular and cellular aspects of Biology, including the molecular building blocks of life, genetics and DNA, cellular structure/function, reproduction and the energy pathways of photosynthesis and respiration. In the laboratory, the students will become familiar with the scientific method, applying the concepts they are learning in class through inquiry?based laboratory exercises. Biology 113 is a prerequisite for higher-level biology courses and is required for Biology and Forensic Biology majors. This course will not count towards any the Biology major degree tracks.Fulfills the natural science/mathematics requirement (1998 & 2019).
