This course explores the concept of occupational justice and its significance in occupational therapy practice. Students will examine how social, cultural, economic, and political factors impact individuals' access to meaningful occupations and overall well-being. The course emphasizes the role of occupational therapy assistants in advocating for equitable opportunities and addressing occupational injustices faced by diverse populations. Through lectures, case studies, and community projects, students will develop skills in identifying and addressing barriers to occupational participation, promoting inclusion, and supporting social change.
