Catalog description

A basic college-level ecology course designed to acquaint the student with living systems, their environment and evolution. Local plants and animals and their habitats will be used to investigate fundamental ecological principles. Almost half of the laboratory periods will be devoted to field studies. Due to the time involved, some of these field studies will take place on Saturdays or Sundays. (CSU/UC) (AA/AS-5, CSU-B2,B3, IGETC-5B,5C, Cal-GETC-5B,5C) ***It is important to attend the first meeting of all classes. If students are unable to do so, the instructor should be notified. Failure to attend the first class may result in the student being dropped from the class.
