A survey of major characteristics of Spanish, Latin American and Chicano/Latino cultures as reflected in literature, the arts, philosophy, and folklore. Topics include lived experiences; traditions; family structure and gender roles; racialization and discrimination; social stratification; social struggles that led to migration; and contributions of Spanish, Latin American, and Chicano cultures in the United States.
