Special Topic: Life Worth Living. What does it mean for a life to go well? What would it look like for a life to be lived well? What shapes could a life worth living take? These questions have been central to human existence for millennia. What can we learn about ourselves from these efforts? Life Worth Living explores these questions through engagement with the heritage of diverse religious traditions from ancient Mesopotamia, India, China, the Middle East, and the US. Prerequisite: One 100-level "Studying Religion" course, or second-year standing.

Writing intensive. Faculty will give substantial oral and/or written feedback to students on writing assignments and provide students with opportunities to apply that feedback to future assignments or revisions. At least 50% of the final grade is based on graded writing assignments.
