Feminist Inquiry

Catalog description
This course explores how feminists build empirical knowledge of our social worlds. By scrutinizing examples of feminist research and experimenting with major methods of qualitative inquiry, we will examine how feminists operationalize major traditions of contemporary feminist thought (including intersectional, queer, indigenous, and transnational) in the collection and analysis of data. Prerequisite: Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies 111 and at least one 200-level GWS course. ALLEN, BEAUBOEUF-LAFONTANT,STAFF.

Writing intensive. Faculty will give substantial oral and/or written feedback to students on writing assignments and provide students with opportunities to apply that feedback to future assignments or revisions. At least 50% of the final grade is based on graded writing assignments.
