Catalog description

This course examines the transformation of French literature as it deals with the upheavals brought about by war, revolution, industrialization, colonization and colonial emancipation. Students refine their ability to understand the nuances of the French language while discussing artistic movements such as Romanticism, Realism, the Theatre of the Absurd, Surrealism, and the Nouveau Roman. Prerequisite: French 222. STAFF.
