Catalog description
This course is designed to "pull back the curtain" on teaching by identifying some of the skills, micro-decisions, and epistemologies that comprise teacher practice. You will spend a minimum of 14 hours in local school classrooms, where you will practice taking field notes. Our seminar will prepare you to ask important questions about student learning, inclusion, and teacher preparation and introduce you to participant observation, a methodology that is central to educational research. Prerequisite: Completion of, or concurrent registration in, EDU-101. LARSON
