Catalog description
Genomics of speciation: The processes and mechanisms that drive species formation have long intrigued evolutionary biologists. How does natural selection erode or maintain species boundaries? Can genetic incompatibilities maintain species boundaries? How do these processes interact throughout the speciation continuum? High-throughput sequencing technology has enabled us to gain deeper insight into questions such as these. This seminar course will explore foundational theory, advancements in sequencing technology and its applications, with a strong focus on reading, discussion, and writing. Prerequisites: BIO-252. DONG.
