See Sociology 291. An overview of the research process in sociology and the social sciences, with emphasis on problems of epistemology, research design, techniques of sampling, methods of data collection, principles of measurement, basic methods of data analysis, and ethical considerations. This course will explore these topics through hands-on experiences including guided work on research methods through lab exercises. Prerequisite: Sociology 111 or Anthropology 104, and one 200-level sociology course and Social Studies 115, Statistics 209 (preferred), or Mathematics/Statistics 336; with grades S, C, or better. PANDAIAN, QUINSAAT.
