Catalog description

Historical archaeology is the archaeological study of societies from CE 1500 to present. Readings will trace the development of historical archaeology as a discipline and cover a range of important theoretical topics, including colonialism, gender and sexuality, and race and racism. Laboratory sessions will introduce course participants to core methodologies used in historical archaeology, which include analyses of the material and documentary record. Prerequiste: ANT 104. NG
