Catalog description

Provides the knowledge and skill base for understanding, analyzing, and influencing federal, State of Illinois and local policy related to school social work. Applies a social justice perspective, consistent with professional social work ethics, to policy issues affecting students and schools. Examines school-related policies and policy issues for their relevance to social work practice and implications for children and youth, with particular attention to the needs and concerns of vulnerable and marginalized populations.
