Catalog description

Emphasizes and integrates leadership and management skills relevant to the stuent?s scope of practice. Selected theories and principles of management are analyzed in relation to their effects on clients, families, and co-workers. Basic leadership skills include the awareness of complex systems, and the impact of power, politics, policy and regulatory guidelines on these systems. Skills emphasized will include ethical and critical thinking, initiating and maintaining effective working relationships, use of mutually respectful communication and collaboration within interprofessional teams, care coordination, delegation, and conflict resolution strategies.
