Catalog description
Covers an axiomatic study of Euclidean geometry with an emphasis on mathematical proofs. Introduces spherical, hyperbolic, and other non-Euclidean geometries as well as analytic geometry. Introduces projective geometry, planar symmetry and tessellations, fractals and informal geometric topology. Requires exercises in the use of a computer, with geometry software as well as a computer algebra system. Includes individual investigations of concepts and principles in geometry with emphasis on proofs and the use of dynamic geometry software.
