Catalog description

Focuses on mathematical reasoning and conceptual understanding. Part I of an introductory content-oriented mathematics course with topics including problem solving, sets, numeration systems, integers, rational numbers, ratios, and proportions. The two-course sequence meets the requirements for state certification in elementary teaching. Students must have taken the ALEKS exam prior to taking this course or have already completed a college level math course.
