Presents an overview of the legal and ethical issues faced by health care consumers, practitioners, and administrators. The course will introduce students to the legal aspects of health care at the federal, state, and local levels. Topics covered will include informed consent, joint ventures, compliance issues, mergers and acquisitions, medical staff issues and liability, Stark laws, fraud and abuse.
