Catalog description

Presents highlights of the foundations of computer science. This course will introduce the relationships between formal languages and automata; focus on the regular grammar and finite state automata, context-free grammar, and push-down stack automata; provide basic principles of compilers and compiler design, lexical analysis, parsing techniques, syntax directed translation, symbol tables, storage administration, error detection, and code generation. Thus, this course will provide both the theoretical and practical foundation of modern computer science.
