Intro To School Counseling

Catalog description

Provides an overview of School Counseling. The American School Counselor Association's National Comprehensive School Counseling Program Model will be introduced along with the Illinois School Counseling Program Model. Students will learn school counseling roles in the areas of leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and systemic change. Students will also gain an understanding of how school counselors address the social/emotional, academic, and career development of all students using direct and indirect services. Various issues relevant to today's children and adolescents will be explored.
