Reviews the history of the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology, and the development of ethical and professional standards. Requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, licensure in Illinois, and public school certification for speech-language professionals are described. Provides instruction on completion of the Knowledge and Skills Acquisition (KASA) document and the role of the KASA in formative assessment. This course is available only online.
