Catalog description

This is the first lecture course of a two semester sequence that examines the chemical through ecosystem levels of biological organization. Emphasis is placed on the scientific method, organic compounds, cell structure and function, cellular processes, molecular and Mendelian genetics, and evolution. Examines how social, political and global trends impact biological issues.
