Catalog description

Presents an interdisciplinary overview of the history, philosophy, sociology, culture, psychology, and legislation of bilingual and ESL education. Compares methods and models of bilingual and ESL education. Students will research language acquisition, relate language acquistion to theories of language development, and reflect on their language development. Students will analyze a topic from multiple perspectives and develop a coherent opinion on the topic. Requires 10 clock-hours of field experience.
