Prepares students to function effectively in a bilingual classroom. Examines specialized instructional strategies, materials, and evaluation stemming from various theories of teaching and learning. Introduces students to the development of culturally responsive standards-based units and lesson plans. Researching instructional practices, needs of multilingual students, pedagogical processes, the inclusion of linguistic and academic strengths and reflect on their own language development. Requires 20 clock-hours of field experience.
