Catalog description

This course introduces students to the nursing profession and the various roles and responsibilities of the nurse. Students will learn basic nursing skills that they will practice under the direction of their instructor before applying to clients in a clinical setting. Students will be taught a broad scope of nursing skills including physical assessment, diagnostic techniques, infection control, pain management, and nutrition with an emphasis of providing safe, quality care. The Nursing Process will be examined to promote and maintain physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health while providing consideration to cultural beliefs and practices.
