Advanced ECG Practice

Catalog description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of advanced electrocardiographic (EKG/ECG) procedures, building upon foundational knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and basic EKG interpretation. Students will learn to perform and analyze specialized EKG tests such as stress testing, Holter and event monitoring, and 12-lead EKG interpretation for complex cardiac conditions. Emphasis is placed on accurate lead placement, troubleshooting artifacts, recognizing abnormal waveforms, and understanding the clinical significance of arrhythmia and cardiac pathologies. The course integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory experiences to prepare students for advanced clinical practice in cardiac monitoring and diagnostic testing.
