Advanced Phlebotomy Techniques

Catalog description

This course builds upon students' foundational skills by introducing advanced blood collection methods, including syringe draws and capillary collection techniques. Students will refine their venipuncture proficiency while learning strategies for handling difficult draws and special patient populations. Emphasis is placed on advanced quality control measures, regulatory compliance, and professional and legal aspects of phlebotomy. Students will complete 15 successful blood draws on live specimens.
