Catalog description

This course focuses on individual, community and institutional HLTHcare needs and issues from both the biomedical and socio-cultural points of view. The course explores issues regarding HLTHcare insurance, the uninsured and underserved, managed care and changes in HLTHcare marketplace; and provides an overview of major diseases, including epidemics, chronic and acute illness. Discussion of the role of HLTH promotion and prevention will also be explored. Prerequisite: ENG 101 (may be taken concurrently). Offered: Sp, Su.
