Caring for Adults with Complex Health Alterations? Course Description: This final comprehensive course provides a didactic and clinical experience in which students demonstrate achievement of advanced knowledge and practice ready nursing skills. A major focus is on the care of diverse adult populations with complex acute alterations in health. Students will employ the nursing process as a dynamic framework to make accurate assessments, identify problems, and create a person-centered plan of care based on sound clinical judgements supported by evidence-based interventions. Emphasis is on competent use of effective teaching methodologies, collaborative practice, quality and safety, use of technology and advanced communication techniques. Students must include consideration of ethical-legal issues, diversity, equity, inclusion, and the impact of racial discrimination on the delivery of health care. ?This course offers a realistic and immersive environment for students to apply their acquired knowledge and skills to build confidence prior to graduation. Students will demonstrate professional accountability and clinical competence through their ability to establish priorities, make informed decisions, and enhance their independence in the management of patient care.
