Catalog description

This course provides the students with the opportunity to acquire foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes about pharmacology and pharmacotherapeutics required for entry-level nursing practice. The focus is on pharmacology for health promotion, treatment of illness, and restoration of wellness in diverse individuals. Further emphasis will be on using human body systems as a framework to explore drugs and common human conditions. Students will also examine the impact of drug therapy on the health of special populations. Review and practice of medication calculations expected of a professional nurse will be included.
