Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental Health Course Description: This didactic course for the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner student has an emphasis on the analysis of psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, optimal treatment plans, and evaluation across the life span. Students will develop a broad theoretical understanding of psychopathology from an individual descriptive symptom perspective as presented in the DSM-5. This includes a systematic approach related to developmental milestones, familial patterns, and socio-cultural factors.
