This course explores concepts integral to the role of the advanced practice nurse. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, population health, quality, safety, informatics, and the role of the advanced practice nurse as a leader. Aspects of licensure and future role(s) of the professional advanced practice nurse at the local and national levels are analyzed. Informatics, electronic health records, billing & coding, interprofessional collaboration, independent practice, and business ownership are explored Culture, bias, and ethical considerations of care within systems are analyzed.
